TEA Party Attacked, Again
The squatter in chief, his dufus VP, whore house Harry, the Senate ketchup king, and many others from the Commiecrat left have continued their attack on the TEA Party. Could it be that the old business as usual crowd has had the devil scared out to them? Even the GOP old guard has been shaken up. Speaker Boner, er Bonier, or whatever the RINO's name is, seems to have been shaken to his boots. It's just my opinion, but I think this is all a good thing. The rantings of the leading Commiecrats is proof of the effectiveness or the newly elected conservatives.
The showing of strength by TEA Party supported members of the House of Representatives during recent debt limit debate may have awoken a few of the sleeping dinosaurs in the District of Criminals (thanks Rick of WAIM). If we can elect just a few more strongly conservative Senators and House members, we can stop the red ink that has plagued our government for decades. With any luck at all, we can also get rid of the unconstitutional O'bamacare.
I make no distinction between the Commiecrats and RINOs. Both have been a party to the ridiculous financial mess we find ourselves in today. For the first time in the history of the United States, our credit rating has been lowered. Standard and Poors has just lowered the US rating from AAA to AA. Even Communist China, which holds a huge chunk of our debt, has said the days of borrowing ourselves out of trouble are over.
We can work ourselves out of this mess. But it will take a strong will, effort, and the election of dedicated conservative members to our Congress. Don't forget the same applies to the state and local governments. Someone much smarter than I once said, "All politics is local!" Therefore, we must start the financial healing process at home.

Wait Until Next Year
Well, the conservatives didn't exactly win the battle over the debt limit increase. The so-called cuts in the debt limit increase bill are not really cuts. They are business as usual foisted upon us by the Commiecrats, RINOs like the Speaker, and others who have been corrupted by the District of Criminals. These cuts are merely projection of future reductions in the rate of growth. We've seen this garbage before.
The people did however show the DC old guard that there's a new force in town. "We the People" are here. We are growing, and we will again make our strength known during the next legislative year and especially the 2012 elections.
I am proud to say that the South Carolina delegation, save one Commiecrat, voted solidly against the debt limit increase. Just a few more Senate and Congressional seats wrenched from the fat tails of the lifers in DC will make all the difference. This is only the beginning.

A Bold Rip-Off
I have an old Sharp Carousel microwave. It is an old machine and has never given me any trouble. However, it now needs a small part. There is a square silvery piece known as a wave guide cover on the inside of the box. The sparks and fire produced when it failed were really quite spactacular. My popcorn had that nicely burned quality I like.
I found a replacement part on the internet fairly quickly. They only wanted approximately $2.45 for the item. No problem! I just whipped out the debit card and clicked on the check-out button. As I went through the check out process, I found they had a shipping and handling charge of $8.95.
What a rip-off! Those jerks were going to get over three times the cost of the replacement part for shipping and handling. All they needed to do was put the part between two pieces of cardboard, stuff it in an envelope (preferably a padded one), slap a couple of stamps on it, and drop it in the mail. It should take less than a dollar's worth (at retail) for material and stamps. I'd give them another dollar for the effort.
So, my total final cost should be somewhere around $4.50 to 5.00. Who do these thieves think they are? What a Rip-Off!

Introduction
Hello! I have just a couple of months left before retiring, and this is my first attempt at blogging. I guess even an old dog can learn a new trick now and then. Let's hope I don't make too much of a mess of it.
Anyway, much of what will be written here will be of a political nature. Of course, this site is named Just My Opinion. So, please feel free to check anything I write for yourself, and make up your own mind about the topics I address. I frequently have an opinion on a wide range of topics and will share them as they come to me. Feel free to comment. Please keep your language clean so my grand children won't be offended.
Now, on to today's topic. I have strong opinions concerning the current debt ceiling debate going on in Washington , DC. Who doesn't?
It's Just My Opinion that the new TEA Party supported members of Congress are doing exactly what they were elected to do. I support them in their efforts to bring our bloated government back in line with what we, as a nation, can afford. Any debt ceiling increase must come after real cuts are made in spending.
We have seen the so-called cuts offered in the bill supported by the Speaker many times before. They stretch out for years and never really materialize. If they do come about, these cuts are merely small reductions to the amount of growth in the affected program. In other words, these proposed cuts are not really cuts at all. This has been the way of both the Commie..., oops, I mean the Democrats and RINO Republicans for decades. The current fight is not between the Democrats and Republicans. It is between the established RINO Republicans and the new conservative Republicans.
This is the kind of nonsense freshman Congressmen and women were sent to DC to put a stop to. We want real cuts. Real cuts are those that result in droves of bureaucrats carrying boxes of personal property from what used to be their offices. Real cuts in entitlements should not cost more money as they did during the Clinton era. Real cuts will eliminate tax dollars going to organizations that have absolutely no Constitutional right to them. Planned Parenthood, National Endowment for the Arts, PBS/NPR, and the myriad of entitlement programs should be just the beginning of the real cuts made by those who represent the folks back home.
And finally, since when did Social Security become an entitlement. I for one have paid into Social Security ever since I took my first job as a grocery store carry-out boy well over forty-five years ago. That does not make Social Security an entitlement. When I begin receiving my Social Security checks, they are simply a return of a small portion of what I paid in.
Therefore, I wish the freshmen class in our House of Representatives all the best. May God bless and keep you.
